One Poem by Angel Edwards

In for the long long con

She knew all along he was perfecting control

orchestrating the long long con

slow measured steps calculating each breath

leading her on and on

It was a game that he had played

throughout

his entire lifetime

getting away with murdering hearts

no standing trial for his crime

He didn’t even find her attractive

and she knew this

If he didn’t realize this

she found it humorous

A vampire eating away

her self protecting safety sense

A con man a gigolo a shark

prancing pomp

promised pretence

she knew she could

run away from this person

With no regret

no last lingering looks

she would run
