Five Poems by R M. Engelhardt

GOD KILLER

DEAD ARE ALL THE GODS:

NOW DO WE DESIRE THE OVERMAN TO LIVE.'

~ Thus Spoke Zarathustra

 Part I, Section XXII,3

Give me

The sword

So that I

May find and

Strike down

All your false

Deities, your

Ridiculous tales of

A Christian God

That was made

Up long centuries ago

By weak &

Frightened men

And the name of

That sword is

Truth

It's time

To rid ourselves

Of these useless

Children's stories

And create

The birth of

New ones to

Make a better

More peaceful

World

FUCKING GHOSTS

Sometimes

Memory

                     Time

Will betray you

You awake

From a dream

To find yourself

Alone even if

You are not

Years have

Passed like the

Ashes in their

Wake

And you are just

Another old man

Feeling & remembering

It all

As love

I AM

I am just the messenger in a world

of unbelief

I am a transgressor of the law

In this time of legalized lawlessness

& disbelief .

I am the word & the word is dead

I am the truth and the truth has

been hidden.

I am the writing, erased from the wall

I am the alchemist

The sage lost in an unconscious world

I am

I am

I am

Still

The words &

The nothing

At all

ARDANES

Note:

The laws

Rules of

Magic simply

Don't exist

Unless you

Offer the Gods

Free cookies

And if they

Want more

Cookies then

They're demons

THE PROPHETS OF DOOM

Every new

Prophet of doom

Sits in their

Lawn chair

Contemplating

Too soon the

Demise of me

& The demise

Of you as they drink

Another lite beer

Are we all

Just pessimists

Now ? Soothsayers

And depressed

Ventriloquists giving

The consciousness a voice?

Trembling at the

Very mention of

Love, peace or

Soul masquerading

As human beings

Wearing a frown

And too much

Black?

Dystopia

Sounds too

Cool for words

And the prophets

Of doom are

Now all once

Again bored

Spring is here
