Eight Haiku/Senryu by Roberta Beach Jacobson

Eight Haiku/Senryu

winter wind . . .

snowflakes dance on unraked

leaves

snow

how quickly our footpath

disappears

deep in a forest

the smallest snowflakes

reach fairy doors

December

snow on maple branches

my white hair

dromedary morning car humps under snow

knee-deep snow . . .

jingle of Christmas cards

in the mail slot

on the prairie

never taking a snow day

bison

blizzard

not seeing the road

on my way home

Roberta Beach Jacobson is drawn to the magic of words–poetry, song lyrics, flash fiction, puzzles, and stand-up comedy. Her latest book is Demitasse Fiction: One-Minute Reads for Busy People (Alien Buddha Press, 2023).
