Collaboration - One Poem by Susan Isla Tepper with Art by Digby Beaumont.

Visit

She was the last

to visit my garden

carrying snowdrops

in her hair

A basket

of African Violets

dangling

for which I had no use

but didn’t say so—

Didn’t say who brings flowers

into an abundant garden

Tho’ she’d read my mind

telling me it was all lies

my garden— just a tumble

weeds and wild things

crawling in the dirt.

When she removed her clothes

we couldn’t see eye to eye.
