One Poem by Susan Isla Tepper with Art by Digby Beaumont

DEAD

We play mind games

To protect the dead

In ourselves

The already dead

Those about to become

Dead

All forms of dead

And I decided God was

Napping when I cried

In secret in the bathroom

Then the bridge opened up.
