Haiku, Senryu,Tanka Poems by Daipayan Nair

Haiku/Senryu Poems

the stray lock of hair

she hides behind her ear . . .

first kiss

door bell—

an incomplete arc

by her eyeliner

my borrowed comb

between her lips . . .

doing the bun

fish market...

a man twitches

his nose

final bargain—

the jingle

in his pockets

Tanka Poems

murmuration

of a starling flock—

the sky

as seen from the roof

along with you

floating

on a banana raft

the lullaby

she breastfeeds her baby

in the deluge
