One Heartfelt Poem by Dr Suleman Lazarus

Laments of an Immigrant Ashore

I screamed.
And I screamed.
I screamed again.
And again, I screamed.

And perhaps, for a long time, I screamed.

And perhaps, for a short time, I dreamed.

I do not know.
I do not know.

It must have been just a dream life.

If it is, oh Lord! An awakening life.

Why does none hear so many screams?
Why does numbness tear many dreams?

As the liquor of law numbed humanity into apathy,

I fell into the abyss and screamed.

I screamed.
And I screamed.
I screamed again.
And again, I screamed.
