Five Untitled Poems by Merritt Waldon

In mind's eye music plays

A druid does fly over bedlam

Catalpa leaves huge as faces

In the dark their sway like

Voices sing the new life

Into collaboration w shadow

Bouncing around 3.a.m. rooms

Somewhere in Middle America

----

Time to love

Time for truth

Time for the dying

Of silly ways

Time to understand

Decay

----

All tomorrow's parties

Lived in one night

Once back in 1992

With you

Now lost to the tides

Of madness &

Civilization

Throbbing beneath

Your legs

-----

Tonight, under the boughs of trees

Along darkening city streets watching the glow of an orange crescent moon

I ride

---

Follow me friends

Can you see any futures

Not so dimmed

By some form

Of hatred

Why so dim

Why so grim

America

----
