Ten Cat Poems by Jennifer Gurney

Ten Cat Poems

my cat and I

slow blinking

our love

***

the sweat pools

cat sleeping on my lap

hundred-degree day

***

stalking shadows shifting in the breeze my cats

***

my cat can hear

me open tuna

from a floor away

***

nearly impossible

to start the day

with a cat on my lap

***

my cats

go crazy for

fish tacos

***

my cats

batting off the counter

bemused-amused

***

easy to drift off

when the warm cat curled on

your lap is snoring

***

outside for a treat

grazing on the green grass

cat salad

***

taking down

my late cat's picture from my

mini fridge at school

back-to-school

heartache
