Eight Haiku/Senryu Poems by Mallika Chari

walking track

 ..........she crossed

her perfume

temple street

prayers in feeble voices

behind the rows of garlands

beach resort

moving fast in the sand

restaurant workers

harvest season

among vines

his worries

health checkup camp

spiced gourd juice

in great demand

bad days

she serves the guest

a spoon of pickle

boatmen return with

the smell of floating leaves

new town

the autumn fascinates

her life

Mallika Chari, Chennai, India.
