One Poem by Sherry Steiner

The Key of A

Simply put
a melody conquers
that mist of fortune
squirrelling down
a road
neither
here nor there
or
left or right
or
yellow blue or red ~
the key of A runs wild
gone amok as they say.
In a time
watched by all
without
your battery installed
rhythms distance
cauliflower ears
kettled on stilts.
Simply put
a melody conquers
factoring in
levity
&
improvisational
dalliances
steeped in lemon
and lime as
broad shouldered
rigamarole
skips
the sonata
to parlay a yield ahead.
