Haiku by Mona Bedi

HAIKU

summer breeze

singing the song from

my childhood

dreidel

my daughter tells me

she is pregnant

new born girl

a pink chaffinch

on the windowsill

super moon

greeting it-

the cry of a cicada

singing songs

around a campfire-

flying sparks

mind fog

breaking my trance

call of a lapwing

rain puddle

I match my steps with

the dancing moon
