Ten Haiku Poems by Joshua St. Claire

Ten Haiku

bundles of dill
upside down in the attic
small-footed myotis

Endless Mountains
the Susquehanna’s waves
echoing in its rocks

asbestos shingles
the ghosts of the past swaying
on the clothesline

giving in to the heat lightning

the different things
we do with our hands
crow and I

a speck of mountain
                                     gliding over the mountain
                           bald eagle

a fragment of night
crossing the deep cyan
a crow

middle age
the trees
I never planted

stratus afternoon
the shadowsoftness
of antler on skull

the time it takes
for stars to cross the lake
summer
