Three Poems by Yuu Ikeda

The Veil of The Half Moon

The half-moon is cocooned

in the veil of the misty light.

The veil is his own.

The veil is the symbol of his loneliness.

He never notices that

I'm gazing at him.

He never notices that

I'm also in loneliness.

Under the misty light,

I imagine his loneliness.

Being cocooned in his own misty veil,

he is going to the navy-blue horizon.

Because She Believes The Sun

The girl can make cherry blossoms bloom

in a cocoon of winter intense coldness.

The girl can change

abandoned cigarettes' butts at the side of a road

into rings of obsidian.

The girl can draw the morning glow

instead of tears

on her favorite notebook.

If

I wish that

the moon illuminated only me.

If so,

I never have fears of night.

I wish that

the sun burns only humans covered with malice.

If so,

I never have fears of morning.
