Five Poems & One Haiku by Angel Edwards

 In gallops the fire horse

 In gallops the fire horse

 upon his back no rider

no human to pull his mane

aura of gold ash red coal

vision of speed

spirit steed

purple hoofed footprints

majestic

fire horse year

SO FAIRY MAGICK

So fairy magic is answered
 right away
 the price is always
exorbitant pay
Fairy magic is time sensitive
 results
dark magic lingering stay

Is the room half empty or half full

Is the room half empty or half full
Playing empty bar after empty bar
Empty lounge after empty lounge,
Pitiful
so a bar with an audience
patrons
regulars
such a treat

 a few stragglers
drinking in the corner

dancers devoid of rhythm
stagger on the dance floor

The band not without talent,
but not with that much talent

they think that they matter to the drinkers in the bar,
 but they don’t

Social clubs of elderly Musicians still with chops

given up all hope of celebrity, but there’s still a joy in playing and it’s a social event

always an audience where there’s drinkers

if it’s in your neck of the woods it’s not a bad thing
But coming from another area of town
it’s just a freestanding
boutique bar,
rundown
rather malodorous
by the railway
Trains go by
As they play

There were spirits

There were spirits

dressed up as poets

Sitting around,

waiting their turn to recite

Standing in line then disappearing

Into the ether

out of sight

ethereal cheering

From

spirits dressed up as an audience

Gathering

listening

A caretaker for a ghost

A caretaker for a ghost

Lover memory closed

Three decades of loss

planted three trees

Haiku
Ekphrastic

Brenda’s Genius Art

Tree tenderly guards

       night time estate

hidden dreams

               await visitors
