One Poem by Victor Kennedy

Still Standing, Still Shining

It hasn’t always been a straight-line road,
Some days were heavy, carrying that load.
But every scar tells a story you survived,
Every morning, you still chose to rise.
When the nights felt way too long,
You didn’t walk them on your own.

So light the candles, and let’s sing,
Another year, another win.
You’re still standing, shining bright,
Strong as the morning after night.
Through the laughter, through the tears,
You held strong through all those years.
This is your day—look around and see,
You’re loved more than you can conceive.

Though the road ahead still twists and bends,
You won’t face it without friends.
Side by side, whatever comes,
This story’s far from done.

So make a wish, take your time,
The future’s humming, it’ll be fine.
You’re still standing, shining bright,
Turning pain into your light.
Here’s to you and all you are,
Every mile, and every scar.
Just remember—this much is true:
We’re better off because of you.
