One Poem by Lynn Long

The day she stopped believing in dragons

Light hid in the shadows

For the sun once so bright

fell from the sky

And the moon hung low

Descending deep into the

ebony sea ...where dreams,

were but mere wishes upon

the Nile flowing no more

And trees bend in silent

reverence

To the darkness

Guided by memories of old

Illuminated only

in the heartbeat

of a lone star-

never giving up hope

the dragon still soars

In search of home
