Cherita, Tanka, Senryu, Haiku & Gembun Poems by Sharon Ferrante

Cherita, Tanka, Senryu, Haiku & Gembun Poems by Sharon Ferrante

Cherita—

my tall tower

I tell an old story
to pillars on the walls

come late autumn
the tired roses
just can’t crawl

Cherita—

sweet autumn

no need
for worries

I too
will leave things
behind

Tanka—

a hundred voices
are singing in the river
what have I done…
I just asked for one
ghost in the waves

Senryu—

on the last train
the ghost of a boilerman
weeping

Senryu—

she runs away…
telling my neighbour
I’m a shaman

Haiku—

another new star…
a dragon has picked
his rider

Haiku—

touching me in the garden rosemary

Gembun—

leaving you
at the boathouse
wind must blow

for chimes to sing
