Hazel Moves to Miami Haiku - by Laura Stamps

Hazel Moves to Miami Haiku

Wind-proofed my hair with

a perm. Hazel approves. So

breezy here. Who knew?

Walking Hazel. New

neighbourhood. New dogs. She growls.

Shows them who’s the “boss.”

Looks like there’s a pet

store on my street. What fun! Hey,

I’m easy to please.

We go there. Hazel

finds the toys. She wants them. All

of them. That’s my girl.

Took Hazel to the

beach. She sees the ocean. Barks

at it. Runs away.

Hazel jumps in my

beach bag. Thinks she’s hiding. It’s

a Chihuahua thing.

Love Miami! New

apartment, new job, warm temps.

Should have moved sooner.
