Two Poems by Barbara Di Sacco in Italian with English Translations

The debt of the poor

They always pay

Hard rental price

on the lands

who had seen them born

to that saying lord

of certain towers and walls

of large stones

on the pitch perimeter.

Forced to his yoke

Huge sacrifice

blessing

His Castro

the guard of his dogs.

But the revolt came

of the pitchforks

and haystacks set on fire

that lit up the long nights.

Many were captured and struck

by the raising of sticks

dipped in blood.

They shouted, brigands

from the mouths of the scoundrels

full buzz

And the earth turned red

and cried.

Dawn conquered freedom.

Il debito del povero

Pagaron sempre

duro prezzo d’affitto

sulle terre

che li avean visti nascer

a quel detto padron

di certe torri e muretti

di sassi grossi

a perimetro di campo.

Costretti al suo giogo

enorme sacrifizio

benedicendo

il suo castro

la guardia dei suoi cani.

Ma venne la rivolta

dei forconi

e pagliai messi a fuoco

 le lunghe notti

illuminaron.

Tante furon prese e botte rese

dall’alzate dei bastoni

di carne intrisi.

Si gridò, briganti

dalle bocche dei furfanti

a buzzo pieno

e la terra si fé rossa

e pianse.

L’alba vinse la libertà.

Tender tears

Snow fell on the flowers

Iced by marble dust

descended in winter

but sweet

It was air clean

like skating on glass.

And the discourse of the wind

brought rain

the white melted

like romantic languor.

The caress in the evening

on the blue lily

drove away the frost

on the tearful land

The silence broke

with notes of drops upon drops.

Strong elms darkened

they approached the precipice

at night

in that cry of love.

Tenera lacrimosa

Cadeva la neve sui fiori

ghiacciati da polvere di marmo

scesa in inverno

ma dolce

era l’aria e pulita

patinando a vetro.

E il discorso del vento

la pioggia portò

il bianco sciolse

come un languire romantico.

La carezza di sera

sul giglio blu

scacciò il gelo

sulla landa lacrimosa

il silenzio ruppe

con note di gocce su gocce.

Imbruniron olmi forti

si serraron sul dirupo

a notte

in quel grido d’amore.

Barbara Di Sacco, Italian poet and writer, is passionate about music, which is a great source of inspiration for her.

She shares with it transporter dreams, capturing every image well fixed to her heart and everything it becomes love in her.

Her great gift of sensitivity allows her to collect photographs of feelings, which she then arranges into floral compositions in poetry.

The soul finds itself with that of the reader, inhabiting moments never forgotten.

Two Poems by Barbara Di Sacco in Italian with English Translation

And again

Around

Inside a black hole

short episodes descend

and spring explosions

Thus love leads

The woman

that is modelled after a man

naïve sweetness

By way of

passionate mode

gratifying him like a whore

thus making you feel

Building your own body

To be loved

and then demolishing depressed

in a foolish solitude

Beautiful sad soul

of poet

who writes of dismay

and empty nights

But he cries

his laments

Putting on new strength

still getting up and again

E ancora

Intorno

dentro un buco nero

calano brevi episodi

ed esplosioni primaverili

Così l’amor conduce

la donna

che si modella ad un uomo

ingenua di dolcezza

Per appassionato

natural modo

appagandolo

come sgualdrinella che così ti fa sentire

Costruire il proprio corpo

per essere amata

e poi demolirsi depressa

in una balorda solitudine

Bella l’anima triste

di poeta

che scrive di sgomenti

e notti vuote

Ma piange

i suoi lamenti

rivestendosi di nuove forze

ancor rialzandosi e ancora

Homologation of nothing

Postcard Image Markets

We are everywhere illustrated covers

often with little content

Free advertising

Jump in sight

of a frenetic pace

More for an audio book

A lost voice

on the edge of reality

Maybe you lay an eye

who does not listen

more interested in a form

and only beautiful of a body in a chosen limit

Approved everything

runs in the street and so absurd

of an absurdity too banal

that never catches attention

Days like this come to an end

Tasteless, never palpating

the true essence, living

in one's own satisfaction

The insipid does not even survive

and dies without a fight

For the sense of an eternity

but he is content with the decency that never shines

Omologazione del nulla

Mercati d’immagini cartolina

siamo ovunque copertine illustrate

Omologato tutto

corre in strada e tanto assurdo

di un’assurdità troppo banale

che mai coglie attenzione

I giorni così vanno al termine

senza sapore, mai palpando

la vera essenza, il vivere

nella propria soddisfazione

L’insulso neanche sopravvive

e muore senza combattere

per il senso di un’eternità

ma si accontenta della decenza che mai brilla

Barbara Di Sacco is an Italian poet and writer, born in Tuscany in 1964. She writes her own realities in a society with a fast pace and increasingly inattentive. She is often hurt by it and it is then that she writes most to disseminate denunciation and true poetic sentiment opposed to indifference.

The gift of humanity that has been lost in a cold and calculating incivility devoted to the power of money. Here writing enters the field more and more careful and useful, to save culture, our history so that people never unlearn that we come from a historical and cultural process of precious level.

Eternity to the word that builds bridges and history.
