Three Poems by Blair Boleyn

My Once and Future Love

And while Time refuses to wait for you,

That’s all I will ever do.

My hopeless dream: in love, us two.

A Man to Adore

You went from a man to adore to just another bore.

Heroes only exist in folklore.

In real life, only cowards and villains are there galore.

Tavern Blues

Abandoned by my lucky star,
Every time I enter a bar.
Pushy men leave a scar.
As the French say, “Quel cauchemar!”

Allow me to explain, next to a bottle of ale:
Without fail,
Whenever I say,

“Do me a favor, please;
Stop talking to me, you sleaze.”
Their only response is, “God, Blair, you’re such a tease!”
Increasing my unease.

But here’s a little tidbit of information for them to glean:
Whatever I say, I sure as hell mean.
And it is long overdue to severe this lien.

When rejection becomes as clear to them as the light of day,
What do they say?
“Whatever, bitch, you weren’t that pretty anyway.”
But at last – at least – they go away…
