10 Haiku by Randy Brooks

onion soup

the longest stretch

of Swiss cheese

•

nudging the kayak

ashore

the glistening berries

•

Mother’s grave

under blooming forsythia

jenny wren

•

mountain run-off

a bear stands up for

a whiff of us

•

old-fashioned names

inside a covered bridge

Amish lovers

•

no see-ums

the surround-sound

tree frogs

•

newborn's bath

the red-faced cry softens

to a quiver

•

new tattoo

her way of fitting in

a snakeskin

•

play house

the mom gives me

a middle name

•

lucky rabbit foot

his boy asks where’s

the rest of it?
