Three Haiku Triptych Poems & One Poem by Samo Kreutz

Where Resin Meets Salt (a haiku triptych)

not all stories need ink to speak

drifting sailboat ...
dad’s old gloves smell
like pine resin

coastal tree line ...
she folds her son's
treasure map

captain’s log ...
the inkless part speaks
in scent of seaweed

The Space Between Sound  (a haiku triptych)

not every drum must strike to be heard

school parade ...
drummer boy waits
for the breeze

distant lightning ...
the black hill holds
soldier's breath

bamboo thicket ...
a girl taps her silence
into twilight

Between the Wind and Us (a haiku triptych)

nature understands what we cannot say

wind in the reeds ...
grasshopper folds
our chat

river meadow ...
ants in a grass change
direction of his sigh

high tea ...
her husband answers
in a cricket’s voice

Neon Prophets

the sky fractures
into asphalt whispers
and cracks

lampposts
rise as the prophets
waiting for dawn

beneath them
our shadows gather
like moths

in search
of constellations

pulsing through the copper veins
