One Poem by Joan McNerney

7 Spring Notes

Morning light reveals

dark branches etched

against a dove grey sky.

Tips of trees reach

way up to heaven.

Blue diamond rains…

filigrees of sunlight

peek through windows.

Sparrows recite litanies

in wood. Trees

greener every day.

Squirrels scramble

for seeds scattered

in my garden.

Those sky champions…

birds twitter breezy notes

early each evening.

Listen as winds

whistle softly

through the night.
