Three Poems by J. D. Nelson

the crystalline word

in the garden where I was born

I am in time to snort

the mirrored earth is the best planet in the polls

we can eat the earth with one brain in each hand

your own chain is a letter x

& now for the punishment

peep! peep!

how much is a world?

into a state with a grapeless grape

soaring with earth birds

milk ants

the griffin said

here is some breakfast

I hope you like fish!

(we didn’t

but we were so hungry)

I have my oatmeal at midnight

I have my softsoap on a rope

earth is a poetry planet

say yes with one eye closed

these blasted rats

the oceans vent into my home

I’m riding the blank aria

I’m the unified ghost-man

speaking to the whole earth

the clown robs us of our clouds

earth is all over the place

this new earth candy

this steamed orion

the snappy crackler pops a large onion

we walk thru the walls wearing slacks
