One Poem by Carol Tahir

Summer of 65

Cruising Lincoln Boulevard, radio blaring

Can’t Get No Satisfaction playing

Flirting with the boy’s in the next car

In the summer of 65

Only to meet them at the drive in movies

Exchanging cars, trading passengers

Who watched a movie.

In the summer of 65

Cramming all those memories

In a few short months

Knowing the draft calls

After high school graduation

In the summer of 66
