Still life
Still life
With coffee and cigarette
On my table
The city is busy
Living a life
Outside of this table
To notice an artist of no consequence
It passes by my window
From both sides of the street
A little too quickly
For my taste
The brewed coffee has a bit of that glint
Like someone dunked sunshine into it
God knows
I need that for my bones
Outside the still life
As fast as the city moves
It won’t take a stand on anything
Endless cloud cover
Without a hint of rain
