One Poem by Susan Isla Tepper with Art by Digby Beaumont

Art - Outcrop - by Digby Beaumont

Oblivion

The boy at the end

watches creatures

slipping out of walls

through cracked woodwork

the fireplace mortar

centuries burning

is crumbling

like dry bread.

Insignificant to the boy.

He opens the batten door

gets smacked by winds.

Licking a finger and

holding it up to gauge.

Oblivious to love.

He has waited a long time

for a thunderous implosion.

Stepping out now

watching it almost with glee.
