Four Poems by Amrita Valan

Profound

Profound malaise

Of a soul

Religious fervour

Belief of an eternity

In the embrace of

One true love.

Love once and

Only one?

Eternity, the sweet

Mortal presumption.

Looking through the

Eye of a needle,

Ignore this world.

Love is here.

In the now.

Ever ready.

The moment

Won't wait

On a soulmate.

The spirit universe

By dint of Time and

Space

Embraces everything.

Till the singularity

Has us all.

We are potential,

Free, at the instant of

Release.

The womb-tomb

Constraint,

A podcast

Spiralling outwards

Rapid kinetic will.

Free fall my dear love,

Free wheeling.

Associations of

Chance

The assonant resonance

Of dualities.

Life-Death

Opposition-unity.

End-Begins.

Alter egos seek

The exact foil.

All is

Found poetry

The music shifts

Place cards

Shuffled.

Kamishbai stories

Are

We.

We, illustrate, replicate

Deepest

Evolving desires

Intricate jigsaw pieces.

Ends meet in puzzles.

Beautiful

Incomprehension.

We start

Dialogues

Fitting letters

In between...

The fetters of

Constraint.

The carousel rotates us all

The end is

Not ending.

Non endings.

Now horse now giraffe

Now a dolphin

Even an aeroplane

Be love beast

Be help meet

Be Doormat

Be skeptic.

Cynics take stance

Dance with romance

Posies of chance

Avalanche.

Meeting

Predestined yet

Not destination.

Culminations never

Final. Spirals never unravelling

To reveal linear equation.

Love?

If it happens

Thank your stars.

But

You may have earned this

Reaping of rewards

By living many versions

Of this reality.

The thrust of now

Is

Your truth,

Now.

Trust every Illicit licentious

atom

Of each other,

In unplugged bodily

invasions

Lucent and vivid

Under the microscope

Of your focus.

Concentrate,

So you may detach.

Every being

Holds the same beautiful

Universe

Seen from another window

Of kaleidoscopic

morphing multi dimensional prism.

Slivers of reality past

Rear views of futures.

And you need this

This  sagacious wise

Experimentation.

Don't defend the fortress

Which  guards such hungry sluices

In narrow sliced ramparts.

Now is the Only Time

Flow into the zone

No reservations.

Not another instant waste

On self preservation

To mummify

The flower of time itself.

You are.

The once upon a time

When the wind howls

The restless toss and turn

Waves of midnight oceans

You are.

The lark croons

To the nightingale

Calls, of divine clarity

Render

Cascading waterfalls

Prismatic

Longings of moon

Drenched soul

Rhapsody.

There is no sorrow

Fear is faraway

In the intimacy

Of trust.

Bereft?

Of what, but an empty place?

Play on

Sam.

Again.

The love you reserve

Is frolicking already

Not on the banks

Of invisible eternity

But now and anon.

We go on from there

To inviolate lotus skies

Ethereal dreaming.

Weaving fusion

And fission of

Evolution.

Call it

The breaching limits.

Perestroika. Kool aid.

Ecstasy. Higher calling.

Eternity only serves

To

Expand the limens

Of love.

Now, the time

To

Honour past debts

Of old flames, lost

Loves, stolen kisses

Of lived out lives.

Cessation

I have ceased to matter

To myself.

Then in my profound place

Can you gauge

My disconnect?

For I walk and talk

Eat and breathe

Still my friend

I sweat and cringe

In physical pain.

From the cruel moue

Of disparu, despair's

mockery.

Yet a zombie

Walking talking

Eating breathing

Should not mind

Muddy slings and arrows

On her blemished skin.

It wears me out

It wears too thin

Too corrosive the cuts

Of acid contempt.

I have ceased to matter

Yet existence raw

Is so very much,

A real deal.

Identity won't flatline

When faith does.

Confidence clogged up

By fogged up skies

cloudy lead lined windows.

Still outline

Hope

Or something like it.

Presuppositions

Of a fair chance

Romance the e mind.

I have ceased to care

To dare to question

What I may claim

Or name. Shame,

Is a shakedown

Of values

Every now and then.

Soon the blinds

Become these eyes

And no longer I

Perceive thin hair breadth

Strand,

Desultory desecration

Of both

Truth and lies.

I am a little pause

The act in swallow

Gulping down pre-empted

By tentative sip

Of my words.

Ineffective yet

Vital.

Effete

Yet reverend.

The laws of an universe

To myself known

That finds no other one

Its home.

Nondescript Voices of Evensong

I carry out my chores

Not my choice

And I swallow my own

Pride

My nondescript voice

Can't carry utterance

So grace

Mayhap it shall be dismissed

Madwoman raving

Ignored as white noise.

The perils of peace

You make

With your own needs

Till you forgive and forget

Your own dreams.

I learnt

To let go

Invite insanity

To hold on

To that,

Beyond my ability.

On broken knees

I arise

The gentle withered

Prose

Fading in fading out of

My mundane days

Of magic fled

Fairy laced

Fancy traced

Ever betrayed.

And

I carried all up

Into the empty loft

The attic of  love's

Labour

Is never lost.

A reflection...

Upon the pages

Scrawled

In days from an age old

Malaise

Called

Light abundant

Spilled from speaking heart.

That same self light

Lingering

Rustles the paged

Shadows.

Hustlers on

An empty stage.

Is there an audience?

From the wings

In flight

Of a stage lit too bright,

Too bright to be

Utterly quenched.

Life is dreadlocks

In commotion and

Castanets

In soup for the soul

And the ragged stole

Ma threw over your

Fevered limbs.

Upon the strands of evening's promenade they wink

And laugh

They weep and cast,

A last Twilight.
