9 Haiku Poems

 

 

Wind whistling through 

my window sounds just 

like my old teapot

 

 

This long bridge of 
morning follows 
splashes of dreams

 

 
Queen Anne's lace 

embroidering night... 

star thistles

 

 

Black cat curls tail 

blinking yellow eyes 

tiger's eyes

 

 

We sit together 

reading calligraphy of  

oceans silently

 

Beneath fir boughs  

float circles of blue bugs

in small galaxies

 

 

You are gone... 

when you left my bright blue sky   

vanished with you

 

When did friendship 

just like my poetry 

become a lost art?

 

silent 

cold 

dark sky 

moon flowering

Joan McNerney has been the recipient of three scholarships. She has recited her work at the National Arts Club, New York City, State University of New York, Oneonta, McNay Art Institute, San Antonio and the University of Houston, Texas published worldwide in over thirty five countries, her work has appeared in literary publications too numerous to mention.
