Ten Haiku
sternbergia lutea entering my Gold Phase
stratocumulus radiatus
two mourning doves floating
on a wire
sunbeams slanting through sassafras
leaves pipsissewa
a red dawn
stains the dogwood blossoms
chipping sparrows
it won’t be long now morning glory
a monarch slips
into an unknown meadow
childhood deepens
measuring out
my square of sky
grape arbor
an ant treks
to the edge of the world
peony bud
a steady rain fills the cracks it
makes broken bashÅ leaves
robinsong
rippling the hemlocks
Appalachian lake
