Haiku & Senryu by Juliet Wilson

Haiku and Senryu

Autumn mist -

not knowing which fungi

are edible

hot flush -

Antarctic ice sheets

melt

Spring thaw -

albino squirrel loses

camouflage

next door's new cat -

the mice gather

in our kitchen

walking away

from what's not meant to be -

falling leaves

fading light -

the memory

of your smile

heatwave -

waiting for a bus

that never comes

birch leaves become

a flock of goldfinches -

fake news
