Two Poems by Jazz Marie Kaur

At Crater Tock

On the moon

sits me.

without a twister scream.

A golden yo-yo swings sideways

inside a clock as it winds up.

Chai is stepping into my rising tea cup.

A crescent croissant snaps in half

for my bedroom meal.

This ticking home launch isn’t real

but it reminds me that I can picture float,

flower in any dreamscape to heal —

my mind’s rotational phases

are a rocket automobile.

No nightmare shall ever awaken an oxygen steal.

No onion peel here,

yet tears begin to wheel.

Stars reveal a cosmic whistle in the streams of rain.

Her forest eyes smile — blanketed is the comet pain.

I still see her in my camera brain.

I still hear her wisdom flashing

as a twirling heart cane.

With her memory drawn,

the gravity shook is gone.

Missing her

in this space,

breathing slowly

out of my tank

to hobble on.

reCAPTCHAs

Loss rocks rain — avalanches roller derby pain.

Moving clocks — my mind earthquake shocks.

Stolen socks — my tough dog talks.

Chicken pox — warm soup soul docks.

High sea sick when writing — on ink lighting walks.

Overalls.

Recovery manoeuvres canals

through masked

times

unearthing

cannibals.

Break a fall.

Break a cough wall.

Breakups maul.

Wake ups to and from

my shopping spree mall.

Again spin dance through the bathroom hall.

Glide.

Fall.

Over.

Crying laugh check strikes —

like a bowling ball.

Break a fall.

Mom call.
